FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to fibrous layer, which is resistant to exposure to high temperatures and is used in the trap of hard particles, which is intended for purification of spent gases that are formed during operation of automobile engines of internal combustion, and to the hard particles trap. Fibrous layer resistant to exposure of high temperatures, made of porous sintered and/or fibrous material (metal fibres), used in open trap of hard particles, has at least on one section catalytically active coating that contains γ-oxide of aluminium. Layer porosity makes at least 50%, and thickness is less than 3 mm. In longitudinal cut with plane that is parallel to the largest external surface of layer, there are openings with average width from 0.01 to 0.5 mm. Trap of hard particles has at least one partially profiled sheet of foil and at least one fibrous layer resistant to effect of high temperatures, at that several sheets of foil and several fibrous layers that alternate with each other, are rolled and installed in jacket. There are through openings and flow-directing surfaces on foil sheets that deflect flows of spent gases in direction of fibrous layer.
EFFECT: increase of efficiency and reliability of trap, simplification, reduction of cost of manufacture, installation and maintenance.
