SUBSTANCE: according to invention, parabolic mirror with acoustic receiver transforming acoustic vibrations into electric ones is installed on vehicle. Damage of insulator is revealed if mean duration of preset number of pulse bursts does not come out of set limits, mean duration of pause between pulse bursts is within the limits of set borders and support with controllable insulators is present. Device has support marker, shaper of rectangular pulses of duration equal to duration of burst of partial discharge pulses, pulse duration mean value determinator, determinator of mean value of pause between pulses, coincidence circuit and recorder. EFFECT: possibility of tuning out from high-frequency and lowfrequency interferences caused by different sources and recording only partial discharges of damaged insulator, improved accuracy of detection of supports with damaged insulators when vehicle is running at high speed. 3 cl, 3 dwg
