FIELD: railway transport; electrified railways; measuring instruments. SUBSTANCE: to simplify design, increase speed and improved accuracy of optical measurement of height and lateral stagger of contact wire using a lens, flat fine-grain aluminium screen is placed at angle of 45 degrees relative to optical axis of lens in focus zone. Operator sees image of wire on screen. Owing to inclination of screen, distinct image of wire on screen is provided. Position of distinct image area is changed depending on height and lateral stagger of wire. Screen has coordinate grid by means of which visual measuring of height and lateral stagger of wire is effected. EFFECT: simplified design, facilitated measuring, improved accuracy. 2 dwg
