FIELD: mining; applicable in mining of mineral steeply dipping beds. SUBSTANCE: method includes mineral drilling and blasting; extraction of mineral by layers along the strike of bed through the entire thickness. In this case, one flank of opencast is formed by contact of mineral lying wall, and opposite opencast flank is formed by barren rocks at angle to horizontal plane permissible by conditions of stability. Muck is removed by transportless method using equipment with supportless movement of load-containing members. Equipment is moved along the bed strike, over edge of bench formed in enclosing rocks as extraction of layer advances. Drilling and blasting operations are carried out with equipment based on mineral surface with its evacuation to bench edge during blasting operations. Formed in worked out space is filling mass whose surface faces mineral and is made inclined at angle corresponding to angle of repose. At least, two districts along mineral bed strike are located for stoping operations. Opencast flanks are reinforced, for instance, by bolting and/or grouting. Formed on bench edge, at least, along opencast flanks located along mineral bed strike is protective guard, for instance, rock barrier is filled. EFFECT: provided extraction of mineral resources below design boundary of opencast with minimization of volumes of removed enclosing rocks. 5 cl, 2 dwg
