FIELD: mining; applicable in opencast mining of water-bearing mineral deposits, particularly, in drainage of working platforms on water-bearing rocks. SUBSTANCE: method includes drilling of holes of drainage slot and loading of holes with borehole sprung-hole charges, blasting of said charges, bypass of water flow from drainage slot to sump. Holes of drainage slot are drilled inclined with angle of inclination taken equal to angle of inclination of working bench slopes. Hole depth is determined by method of calculation. EFFECT: increased stability of slopes of benches and opencast flanks due to reduction of softening effect of water on rocks, reduced cost of ore mining due to replacement of expansive explosives with low-cost ones, for instance, replacement of granotoluene with ammonite 6 ZhV. 2 dwg, 1 ex
