FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves making cruciform incisions in the cornea and sclera, removing eyeball contents, removing the optic nerve through an incision in the posterior pole. Implant is set into the scleral cavity. Horizontal and vertical corneoscleral flaps are displaced one relative to the other in diagonal direction and butt joints are made in pairs with their side edges using sutures with immersed knots forming scleral duplicature.
