FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: air-dry rove is treated with aqueous solution of sulfuric acid (1.2- 2/0 g/l) at 30-35 C for 10-25 min and the rest of acid is neutralized in sodium hydroxide solution. Material is then subjected to oxidative cooking at 95-98 C for 60-90 min using alkaline aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide at total alkalinity of solution 4.7-9.5 g/l (calculated as NaOH) and concentration of hydrogen peroxide 0.7-1.9 g/l (calculated as active oxygen) in the presence of carboxymethylcellulose sodium salt (0.1-1.0 g/l). Preliminary water flushing at 30-35 C is then effected followed by neutralizing the rest of alkali agents with aqueous solution of acetic acid (1.1-1.2 g/l) at 30 C for 10-15 min. EFFECT: increased degree of whiteness and strength characteristics of rove. 1 tbl, 5 ex
