FIELD: water intake equipment. SUBSTANCE: fire hydrant has column mounted on support, nut, vertical threaded rod and related nut, ball valve, shock-absorbing ring made in the form of bushing having height corresponding hydrant nut thread pitch, outer and inner sleeves and protective ring. Inner sleeve is attached with its lower end to column. At least two flexible pins are located between sleeves. Each pin is made wedge-shaped in plan and equipped with projection on its wider end. Annular opposite pin-receiving grooves of regular rectangular shape are arranged in mid portion of sleeves, on outer surface of inner sleeve and on inner surface of outer sleeve. Windows for inserting pins into grooves are formed in outer sleeve body in the vicinity of annular grooves. Pin length matches length of circle of annular groove. Protective ring is made in the form of flexible rim having width corresponding to gap between outer annular pin-receiving grooves and diameter corresponding to outer diameter of outer sleeve. Underground fire hydrant is used for intake of water from water supplying main pipeline for fire suppression, as well as for domestic needs. EFFECT: elimination of hydraulic shocks during employment of hydrant, reduced time for removal of fire hydrant from support and reduced cost of hydrant service and maintenance. 1 dwg
