FIELD: instruments used as heading, yawing and pitching angle sensors both for military and civil mobile units. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes cocking the spring by rewinding it from rotor rim to bush by rotating the rotor, locking the rotor and gimbal mount before reading information on angular position of object off sensor and furnishing uncaging force impulse. Before cocking the spring, bush free of coupling with rotor and inner gimbal is thrown into temporary engagement with inner gimbal. After cocking the spring, caging is effected by successive introducing of mechanical coupling from body to inner and outer gimbals and to rotor in direction of its radius. In reading-off the information, gyroscope is uncaged at three-stages: rotor, inner gimbal and outer gimbal. At the moment of completion of rotor spinning, bush is disconnected from inner gimbal. EFFECT: enhanced operational reliability. 2 dwg
