FIELD: radio communication systems; transceiver calibration. SUBSTANCE: analog transceiver components bring in errors such as amplifier errors and parameter bias errors in receiver or transmitter sections of transceiver. These errors are compensated for by varying digital control of signal in computer section of transceiver. Errors can be measured in the course of calibration and compensating values found are stored in transceiver memory device. These values may be then read out of memory device during transceiver operation and used for processing signal received or transmitted by transceiver. EFFECT: reduced distortions brought in by analog components into digital transceiver. 5 cl, 19 dwg
