FIELD: turbine manufacture, namely, making arc-shaped grooves in rotors of turbines. SUBSTANCE: method comprises preparation technological stage for opening groove by means of embracing milling cutter fed along direction of its rotation axis and finish working by means of profiling end milling cutter. In order to shorten time period of working, groove is preliminarily shaped by means of set of embracing reaming tools. Set includes two reamers designed for counterboring mutually opposite sides of groove. Each reamer has cup-shaped body from which axial edge passes. Said edge is in the form of annular carrying portion and it is arranged coaxially relative to rotation axis of body. Carrying portion has seats for placing non-turned cutting tips and members for mounting them. One reamer has seats arranged at outer side of carrying portion; other reamer has seats at inner side of carrying portion. Circumferential contour embraced by non-turned cutting tips is defined by surface of revolution wavy in axial direction.
