FIELD: milling deep grooves, particularly in generators and turbines bodies. SUBSTANCE: grooves are milled by two passes. At each pass rough and final milling operations are simultaneously performed by single milling tool with edges for rough and final working. Milling tool includes non-reground cutting tips arranged on cartridges with possibility of dividing milling width along main working edges at least by two zones successively arranged one behind another according to rotation direction of cartridges with different sets of tips.
