FIELD: nondestructive material testing. SUBSTANCE: magnitude is measured in frequency range of from f1 to f2 by means of primary transducer; signal from said transducer is converted into digital signal at digitization frequency fdicr and is furnished to on-line storage. Digital signal is compared with threshold level; in case it does not reach said level, analog- to-digital conversion of signal is effected with storage switched-off at frequency of 2f2<f<f; in case it reaches or exceeds said level, signal is loaded in storage during time Tst≥1/f1 and is transcribed to energy-independent storage. Recorder has primary transducer and electronic unit for preliminary processing of signal. Primary transducer and electronic unit are arranged in one casing. Electronic unit is additionally provided with electrically programmed energy-independent storage. EFFECT: enhanced durability with out replacement of supply battery; reduced influence of temperature on readings; avoidance of unauthorized operation. 6 cl, 3 dwg
