FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves determining body mass M1 of a man by weighing. Then the man is placed on horizontal surface and laying arterial blood pressure measurement cuff under the shoulder girdle. Air is pumped into the cuff to receive known reading P1 of pressure on the recording apparatus. Next to it, the cuff is positioned under the sacral area of the same man without releasing the pressure and P3 value is measured. Then, the cuff is positioned under the shoulder girdle of the patient without releasing the pressure whose mass M2 is determined by recording pressure P2 and pressure P4 is recorded under the sacral area of the patient. Patient body mass is determined from a formula M2=M1(P2+P4)/(P1+P3) when P2 is not equal to P4 and P1 is not equal to P3. Otherwise, the formula of M2=M1P2/P1 is used. EFFECT: high accuracy in determining patient weight when the state severity makes it impossible the direct weighing procedure.
