ELECTRIC ARC METAL SPRAY GUN Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: electric arc metal spraying in machine engineering, possibly applying of metal coats on hard-to-reach surfaces of articles. SUBSTANCE: electric arc metal spray gun includes housing in which flexible current supply leads combined with wire electrodes are arranged, air supply pipe and spraying device. The last is spaced from gun housing by some distance but it is connected with it by means of flexible current supply leads and air supply pipe. Such design allows to incline spray device downwards or upwards relative to housing by angle exceeding 0 degrees until 90 degrees if it is necessary to metallized hard-to-reach places. When air passes through air supply pipe the last is dilated and it is jammed in opening providing fixation of spray device in desired position. Housing of spray gun is in the form of tube or telescopic tube in order to provide comfortable use of apparatus. Electric arc spray gun may be easily transported to necessary working zone but power supply unit, mechanism for feeding wire and compressed air source are mounted stationary.
