FIELD: methods and devices for production of feed from fiberglass yarn material. SUBSTANCE: feed is formed by the following operations: supply of continuous yarn fibergalss material to mold in order to form glass wool from continuous fibers in said mold; supply of binding material and simultaneous supply of water. Method additionally includes operation of giving rise to vacuum in mold for facilitation of loading of fiberglass material to mold. According to the second version, method includes the following operations: supply of yarn material from continuous glass fibers to perforated mold for formation of glass wool; supply of binding material to mold; supply of water to mold; compression of mold for compaction of material to form feed in the form of one section of engine exhaust system; circulation of hot water through mold for hardening of binding material; giving rise to vacuum in mold for facilitation of its loading. According to the third version, method additionally includes operation for mold compressiom to compact of glass wool up to desired density. Device for method embodiment includes section of compression where mold is compressed to obtain required density of glass wool; section of hardening where mold is heated to harden binding material and to produce feed in the form, mainly, pressed mold; cooling section for feed cooling to facilitate withdrawal of feed from mold. Technical result of the invention consists in development of feeds from fiberglass material for use as a sound absorbing material in engine exhaust silencer system, particularly, so that feed preserves its shape and may be introduced into silencer shell in the course of assembly operation. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 10 cl, 10 dwg
