FIELD: inorganic compounds technology. SUBSTANCE: invention provides process wherein initial methane/ammonia/oxygen mixture at ratio 1:(1.1-1.24):(1.1-1.5) preheated to 85-100 C is permitted to come into contact with platinum-rhodium catalyst at 1000-1200 C to produce cyanated gases. The latter are cooled in two steps: first quickly to 600-650 C and then to 245-250 C, after which desired product is isolated. EFFECT: increased yield of product due to prevented decomposition of hydrogen cyanide immediately after reaction zone. 6 cl, 1 dwg, 3 tbl
