FIELD: protection against bullets and fragments. SUBSTANCE: invention can be employed for protection of both stationary facilities and vehicles, for instance, glasses of automobiles against small arms bullets. Multilayer translucent block for protection against firearms includes outer and inner glass sheets mounted in frame and intermediate polycarbonate sheets placed between them. Intermediate sheets are positioned with clearance one relative another and with reference to outer and inner glass sheets to form air traps scattering and absorbing energy of bullet. First air clearance between outer glass sheet and adjacent polycarbonate sheet is equal to 0.5- 10.0 mm and the rest of them are 0.05-2.0 mm. Both sides of glass sheets are covered by clear polymer film. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of protection, reduced mass of block. 2 cl, 2 dwg
