FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to multilayer impact-resistant silicate glass composites applicable for manufacturing transparent protective units for immovable objects and vehicles. A bullet-resistant glass polymer composite contains at least three glass sheets joined together by means of a polymer binder. Two outer glasses of the composite are reinforced by ionic exchange, whereas the inner ones are reinforced by etching; the surfaces of the outer glasses are reinforced by etching before ionic exchanged reinforcement. An etched glass layer thickness and an ionic exchange layer thickness of the outer glasses of the composite makes at least 10 mcm.
EFFECT: higher ballistic stability of the composite by improving the mechanical properties of the outer glasses.
