FIELD: nuclear power engineering; emergency shutdown facilities of nuclear reactors. SUBSTANCE: nuclear power plant has VVER-440 or VVER-1000 reactor with parallel- connected circulating loops incorporating steam generator, hot- and cold- coolant pipelines with uptake and downtake sections and drain pipes inbetween, boric acid feeding pipelines, each communicating with cold-coolant pipeline of circulating loop, and jet pumps mounted in gap of each boric acid feeding pipeline, their ejected-flow handling inlets being connected to drain pipes; jet pumps are provided with bypass ducts equipped with normally open remote-control valves; flow section diameters of these ducts are at least equal to those of boric acid feeding pipelines. EFFECT: enhanced operating reliability. 6 cl, 2 dwg
