FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, namely processes for making steel or semifinished products for making steel. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of pouring into ladle with refractory lining iron melt containing silicium in quantity (0.05-0.4)% from aggregate for liquid phase reduction; at pouring supplying onto and(or) under surface of melt in ladle oxygen-containing gas and slag-generating material in quantity necessary for removing out of melt (50-95)% of total content of impurities; mixing gas formed at refining process with exhaust gas of said aggregate and then feeding gas mixture into plant for recovering energy of gases; after termination of iron melt pouring into ladle realizing additional refining by feeding oxygen-containing gas and(or) slag-generating material; then separating metal melt from slag and feeding it to apparatus for heating and(or) finishing up at making steel melt. Then it is possible to feed melt separated from slag in unit for casting to burden ingots such as pigs further used in steel melting shops for making steel. Carbon monoxide generated at process of refining cast iron is burned up (completely or partially) to carbon dioxide due to additional introduction of oxygen into free space of ladle being filled. Iron pouring and refining steps are combined with application of slag protective coating onto inner surface of refractory lining of ladle walls due to blowing off slag by means of oxygen-containing or neutral gas.
