METHOD FOR ESTIMATING THE TERMS FOR CARRYING OUT CATARACTOUS EXTRACTION UPON A PAIRED EYE IN CASE OF BILATERAL CATARACT Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: one should determine clinicofunctional ocular parameters and conduct lacrimal test by crystallographic method 1-2 d before and 1-2 d after the operation at the first eye by measuring the ratio for postoperational increase of the width of peripheral belt of crystallization for both the operated eye and the paired one. If this value of the paired eye does not exceed 0.5 against that increase for the operated one it is possible to conclude on possibility to carry out cataractous extraction at the paired eye at earlier terms (the first 5-6 d after operation of the first eye - before the onset of the first peak of immune response to operation).
