FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves exposing farm crop seeds to spatial optical-acoustic radiation with spectral components within the range of 3•104÷3•1015 Hz; generating optical-acoustic radiation by spatial amplitude-frequency-phase self-modulation of initial optical radiation. Apparatus has cylindrical casing, mechanical acoustic resonator, and optical radiation source located inside mechanical acoustic resonator along its longitudinal axis. Optical radiation source is fixed on casing by means of holder. Method and apparatus provide for selective action upon concrete farm crop by regulating frequency-amplitude-phase characteristics of spatial optical-acoustic radiation and are used for treating any farm crops at presowing treatment stage as well as at vegetative development stage for activating seed material germination processes and enhancing plant vital activity processes.
