FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves recording electrocardiogram and evaluating diastolic and systolic function of the left ventricle. Doppler flowmetry examination of carotid artery. Linear speed of blood circulation, resistance index, spectral expansion index, peripheral resistance index in rest state is measured. After applying bicycle ergometry examination, the measurements are repeated. Cerebrovascular reserve is evaluated by means of original mathematical formula. Two groups of patients are selected as high surgical intervention risk group and lower operation risk one. Surgical tactics is selected on the basis of division into groups. EFFECT: evaluated role of cardiac lesions in transitory cerebral ischemia genesis; high accuracy in evaluating cerebrovascular reserve, selecting appropriate surgical method and predicting risk of cerebral complications. 1 dwg,3 tbl
