FIELD: checking and regulation of permittivity and conductivity of fire-hazard and chemically active liquid media in chemical and other industries. SUBSTANCE: slow surface-wave field is excited along surface-wave guide in the form of round dielectric pipeline filled with running liquid under analysis whose ε,γ and μ equal unity, and field strength above dielectric pipeline is measured at spaced points in horizontal and vertical planes in direction of slow surface-wave propagation field; field decay in these planes is found by relationship between respective field strengths; liquid permittivity is determined by normal field decay coefficient above dielectric pipeline; decay value of slow surface-wave field along dielectric pipeline is used to calculate liquid conductivity; standing-wave mode is set and permittivity is determined by wavelength above dielectric waveguide as double space difference between adjacent field minimums in continuous or stepped scanning mode. EFFECT: enhanced measurement accuracy and safety. 2 dwg
