FIELD: engineering physics. SUBSTANCE: device has substrate, optically transparent electrode layer, phosphor layer 1 covered with layer 2 for heating movable charge carriers, insulating layer 4, contact group 8, and adhesive layer 3 disposed between layers 4 and 2. Layers 4 and 3 are provided with plurality of through holes 5 and 6, respectively. Each hole 5 is contracting towards adhesive layer 3 and coaxially passes to respective hole 6 of adhesive layer 3. Each contact group 8 is essentially electricity conducting layer limited in surface area that covers layer 4 including walls of holes 4 in this layer and also walls of holes 6 in adhesive layer 3, as well as naked sections of layer 2 that function as bottom of holes 6 in adhesive layer 3. In this way point contacts are formed on mentioned sections. Contact groups 8 are interconnected in parallel. Layer 2 has high resistance relative to phosphor layer 1 and its thickness equals at least free-path length of charge carrier in this layer. Thickness of adhesive layer 3 does not exceed diameter of its holes 6. Device manufacturing process includes formation of phosphor layer 1, layer 2 for heating movable charge carriers, insulating layer 4, and also separate contact groups 8. Layer 2 is formed on phosphor layer 1. Adhesive layer 3 is deposited onto layer 2. Insulating strip is produced for layer 4, contracting through holes 6 are formed therein, and mentioned strip is brought in contact with adhesive layer 3 at narrow ends of holes 5. Through holes 5 are formed in adhesive layer 3 as continuations of holes 5. Electricity conducting layer is formed on surface of layer 4 including walls of its holes 5 and also on walls of holes 6 in adhesive layer 3, as well as on naked sections of layer 2. Contact groups 8 are produced by means of lithographic operation on electricity conducting layer. EFFECT: enhanced speed and light yield; reduced cost. 23 cl, 2 dwg
