METHOD FOR WOOD PAINTING Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: wood-working industry, in particular, production of painted improved wood of various species, especially it is applicable for improvement of non-valuable species wood, in particular, of birch, or with a natural "blue" defect; wood painted by the claimed method is applicable in up-to-date production of firm articles of art, furniture components, finishing of the interiors of living rooms and offices, for example, cult rooms. SUBSTANCE: for painting of raw wood to a color gamma of gray, green, yellow and brown colors it is impregnated with at least 30-% aqueous solution of urea up to absorption of at least 10% of urea to the weight of absolutely dry wood, then it is seasoned in the air for not longer than 12 to 20 hours, then the residual wood moistness is brought up to 30% by a double-stage drying, and the process is completed by thermal treatment at a gradually growing temperature up to the final wood moistness not exceeding 4 to 6%. To obtain a combination of wood colors of light hues, the temperature of the impregnation solution (20-40 C) and the temperature of the final stage of wood thermal treatment does not exceed 90 to 100 C with a seasoning up to 1 hour at this temperature, and of wood colors of dark hues - the temperature of the impregnation solution (40-80 C) and the temperature of the final stage of wood thermal treatment does not exceed 100 to 140 C with a seasoning up to 4 hours at this temperature. The method provides for production of material without any cracks and warping, with uniform and through painting of the preset color tonality of lumbers of an arbitrary section of non-valuable species. EFFECT: saved resources, no need of expensive equipment.
