FIELD: wood modification with use of impregnating composition. SUBSTANCE: method includes drying and impregnating of blanks by holding them in melt of modifying agent and their subsequent cooling in melt of modifying agent and densification of blanks. In this case densification is accomplished prior to their drying and impregnation after which drying is carried out and impregnation is accomplished in melt of modifying agent with location of blanks in die holders. Blanks are held in melt of modifying agent at temperature of 100-150 C for 4-8 h and cooled in melt of modifying agent at temperature of not less than 25 C below the initial temperature of melt of modifying agent for 1.5-2 h. Densification of blanks is effected by their compression across fibers to shrinkage of 1.7-2.5. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl
