SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in designing and making of elements of internal combustion engine cooling system. proposed thermostat has housing 1 with inlet branch pines 2, 3 and outlet branch pipe 4 and shutoff heat sensing unit which is arranged in housing 1 and is formed by cylindrical axle 5 rigidly mounted on supports 6 of housing 1. Main valve 7 of smaller circuit and auxiliary valve 8 of larger circuit are installed on cylindrical axle 5 in parallel to each other. Spring 9 with thermomechanical memorized shape effect is arranged between main valve 7 and auxiliary valve 8. Said valves, each, are made in form of two shutoff parts, outer part 10 and inner part 11. Outer parts 10 are provided with channels 12 in central section. Inner part 11 is rigidly secured on cylindrical axle 5, and outer part 10 is installed for axial displacement. EFFECT: improved efficiency in operation and reliability owing to prevention of pressure fluctuations of coolant. 3 cl, 1 dwg
