SUBSTANCE: difference of temperatures measured by thermocouples on heating wall and in recesses of artificial roughness in the form of depressions is used to determine presence of solid hydrocarbon deposit and its thickness in them. Sudden cyclic decrease and growth of temperature difference are signals to switch on systems of fuel clearing and cooling positioned further on along flow.
