DETERMINATION OF FREQUENCY SHIFTS IN COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2195772 C2

FIELD: radio engineering, radio communication. SUBSTANCE: method and device are intended for determination of frequency shifts caused by error of generator or by Doppler effects in subscriber's terminal in communication system. System includes one subscriber's terminal as minimum and base station or interface station to establish communication through satellite. Communication signal 500 is corrected in advance with due account of known Doppler effects by interface stations and transmitting satellite, for example, if satellite is employed, and is transmitted to subscriber's terminal. Subscriber's terminal determines signal frequency with reference to reference frequency generator 516, 518 and treats any detected difference as difference completely emerging as result of Doppler shift. Frequency difference is transmitted either in the capacity of data in transmission over feedback lines 524, 526 or is used as coefficient 522, 526 of preliminary correction for such transmissions. Signal frequency of subscriber's terminal in feedback line is measured at interface station 528 with new compensation for known Doppler effects to ensure measurement of nominal error 530. Measured frequency error and frequency shift are then divided in two to obtain error of Doppler shift or divided in two and scaled to proper frequency to obtain error of generator 532 of subscriber's terminal. Detected error can be sent to subscriber's terminal 534 for utilization in correction of output frequency of generator or for adjustment of its synchronization or for time tracking for subscriber's terminal. On the other hand, detected error can be included as data in following signals for use by interface stations or by base stations 538, 540. EFFECT: enhanced speed of response. 32 cl, 6 dwg
