FIELD: mineral concentration, more specifically, methods of radiometric ore separation; applicable in separation of luminescenting minerals. SUBSTANCE: method of mineral separation consists in pulse excitation of luminescence of minerals and air, recording of current value of summarized signal amplitude of mineral and air luminescence at moment of attaining of X-ray radiation maximum intensity, separation and memorizing directly in the course of separation of minimal amplitude of luminescence corresponding to air luminescence from all sequence of signals. Minimal signal amplitude is used for stabilization of level of separation and recording of amplitude of attenuation single of mineral luminescence long-lived component upon expiration of time corresponding to minimal value of attenuation time constant of mineral luminescence signal. Besides, method consists in settling of separation threshold by amplitude of attenuation signal of mineral luminescence long-lived component, comparison of amplitude of attenuation signal of mineral luminescence long-lived component upon expiration of time corresponding to minimal value of attenuation tine constant of mineral luminescence signal with preset threshold and separation of mineral by comparison results.
