FIELD: oil industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to maintenance of oil tanks. According to proposed method, washing liquid is delivered through controllable barrel with nozzle to surface of bottom deposits to wash out deposits by jet of washing liquid and removing suspended deposits simultaneously with processes of washing out. Washing out is done by dividing bottom deposits into separate sections by jet of washing liquid, and barrel with is controlled depending on condition of bottom deposits on area of tank bottom. In process of cleaning, content of mixture of bottom deposits with washing liquid is checked, and zone of washing out is enlarged in case of decrease in amount of suspended deposits in washing liquid. Device for cleaning tank from bottom deposits incorporates controllable barrel 4 with nozzle 5 mounted on one of side lower hatches of tank, pressure pipeline 6 and cleaning pipeline 16. Cleaning pipeline can be re-placed to other hatch. Mechanism to control barrel with nozzle is made for fixing position of barrel with nozzle. EFFECT: improved reliability and efficiency. 2 cl, 1 dwg
