SUBSTANCE: the pipeline is inspected by a receiving equipment with a directional pattern in the form of a cardioid, electromagnetic waves that have passed through the break-down in the pipeline are detected, the receiving equipment is turned until the direction of zero reception coincides with the direction to the pipeline break-down, and the pipeline break-down point is determined by the minimum of the directional pattern. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of determination of the pipeline break-down point. 3 dwg
