FIELD: agriculture, plant growing. SUBSTANCE: method deals with a preseeding gamma-irradiation of seeds at inhibiting dosages and seeds' storage. The purpose to safe the majority of viable seeds and plants and increase the yield of mutations is achieved successfully. The seeds are affected with gamma-irradiation and kept at hypoxia. Moreover, 20-30 d before the onset of gamma-irradiation the seeds should be isolated against environmental conditions due to film-forming air-penetrable and water- permeable substances, said film on seeds should be maintained till the onset of seeding and germination.
