METHOD OF REDUCING HYDRODYNAMIC FRICTION OF SHIP HULL SHELL Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: ship hydrodynamics; shipbuilding; reduction of friction resistance of ship's hull through control of turbulent boundary layer on shell of ship's hull. SUBSTANCE: method consists in delivery of aqueous solution of polymer additives to turbulent boundary layer of liquid flowing around ship's hull. Highly concentrated starting product of product of polymer, paste for example is introduced by means of proportioner into pre-blade zone of pump of polymer solution delivery system; polymer particles are distributed by blade system of pump moving apart and crushing product of interaction of paste with liquid, thus intensifying dissolving process. For realization of this method, three- slot sea medium pumping system is formed by means of pipe lines and slotted chambers sucking sea medium by pumping system up and down in flow from slot of delivery of polymer additive aqueous solution. Delivery of water to boundary layer of ship is effected by another pump through inclined relative to ship's shell and located below relative to aqueous additive solution delivery slot.
