FIELD: production of foam ceramics for refining of metals, cleaning of water and industrial gases, complete purification of petrol, diesel fuel and exhaust gases, reduction of fuel consumption. SUBSTANCE: method consists in impregnation of porous materials with ceramic slip containing, mas.%: fine-ground dunite, forsterite or rejected forsterite products, 60-80; and fine-ground mix of periclase or rejected periclase products and clay in ratio 80: 20-90: 10, 20-40. Burning of foam ceramics is accomplished at a temperature of 1200-1750 C. EFFECT: expanded source of raw materials due to salvaging of waste of ceramic and metallurgical production. 3 tbl, 3 ex
