FIELD: non-contact oceanographical measurements. SUBSTANCE: method includes determination of distance to water surface by delay time of reflected signal by means of transducer system. Then, vertical accelerations of transducer system caused by sea swell on splash-down flying vehicle are determined by means of accelerometer. Signals are subjected to filtration and after subtraction, signals proportional to oscillations of sea surface are obtained; said signals are processed by pair of circuits at gain factor equal to one. Difference of phase shift of these circuits is close to 90 deg. Then, signals at output circuits and their derivatives are determined. Products of magnitudes of signal at output of one circuit by magnitude of derivative of signal at output of other circuit are determined. Difference of products obtained at outputs of circuits is divided into sum of squares of signals at outputs of both circuits; results are averaged, thus obtaining magnitude of average frequency of sea waves. Results are processed at rate of arrival of information. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 1 dwg
