FIELD: magnetic separation; power engineering, chemical and food- processing industries; metallurgy; mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: magnetic separator is provided with magnetic circuit elements made in form of base with pole pieces and arranged directly in magnetizing system unit; they are coupled on both sides with each middle element of magnetic circuit; their similar poles are directed toward each other forming alternating circuits of opposite directivity. Each middle element of magnetic circuit is used as common member for adjacent magnetic circuits; they have poles of similar polarity on opposite side surfaces of their pole pieces. When fluid medium flows around pole pieces, admixtures are attracted to magnetic poles of pole pieces and settle on them. Magnetic separator ensures forming of local magnetic circuits at active areas of catching admixtures. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 4 cl, 1 dwg
