FIELD: magnetic separation, applicable in chemical, food, power engineering, metallurgical, machine-building and other branches of industry for removal of various magnetosusceptible impurities from liquid and gaseous media.
SUBSTANCE: the magnetic separator has a body with a magnetizable filter-matrix positioned in its annular flow-through chamber, and a periodically acting inner magnetizing system having pole pierces and forming a magnetic circuit with the filter-matrix. The pole pieces facing the flow-through chamber with the side surface are additionally provided with a peripheral system of magnetoconducting disconnected rings positioned in the annular flow-through chamber, directly adjoining the filter-matrix and streamlined by the cleaned media. The ring system may consist of closed rings located concentrically relative to one another. The ring system may consist of open rings made, for example, in the form of a spiral. The thickness of ring Δ is selected from condition: Δ≥B·d2/4D[B], where B - the mean induction of the magnetic field of the magnetizing system, d-the diameter of the magnetizing system, d - the diameter of the magnetizing system, D - the ring diameter, [B] - the allowable magnetic induction in the metal of the magnetic circuit corresponding to the value of induction in the area of approximation to magnetic saturation. The cross-section of the ring body may be made for reduction of its demagnetizing factor.
EFFECT: enhanced level of magnetizing of the whole scope of the filter-matrix.
