FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processes and equipment for purification of fluids by removing ferroparticles by magnetic separators. In compliance with proposed method, diagnostics of induction or intensity basic parametre is performed along the trajectory aligned with pre-defined trajectory of field magnetic power lines or along the trajectory aligned with normal to magnetic element pole surface.One of primary characteristics of aforesaid parametre is used to obtain characteristic of parametre gradient. Then, both said characteristics are integrated by multiplying appropriate data of parametre and its gradient to obtain data characteristic of the field power factor. Zone revealed on this characteristics with vanishingly small power factor magnitudes is identified to be passive.

EFFECT: higher validity of identification of passive zones in magnetic separator working chamber.
