FIELD: welding, namely manufacture of welded constructions in different branches of machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: in order to lower loss of shield gas and to enhance protection of welding zone due to forming laminar gas flows and due to reduced local resistance, burner has duct for supplying shield gas with round cross section having diameter D and with inner and outer walls drawn by radiuses having the same center. Said duct is in the form of converging type rotary elbow. Relation of curvature radius of rotary elbow to diameter D is more or equal to 1. Roughness of its inner wall has high repetition of irregularities. Nozzle is joined with duct for supplying shield gas through discharging passage whose length is no less than 2D. EFFECT: improved design providing improved gas protection of welding zone. 2 dwg
