FIELD: production of ozone. SUBSTANCE: method involves directing oxygen-containing gas through electric discharge zone and discharging released heat by means of cooling liquid flow, with gas flow passing through electric discharge zone and cooling liquid flow in cooling cavity being of turbulent nature. Apparatus has cooling liquid supply and discharge branch pipes, casing, gas inlet and gas outlet branch pipes mounted on casing, cooling liquid inlet and outlet pipe unions, discharge members positioned in casing, two transverse partition walls mounted inside casing for dividing volume thereof into cooling chamber and two gas cavities. Discharge members are inserted into openings formed in partition walls, with discharge member external metal pipes being welded to partition walls. End parts of external metal pipes have enlarged diameter. Discharge members are arranged in series connected rows having equal number of discharge members in each row. Cooling liquid inlet union and cooling liquid outlet union are connected through channel adapted for switching valve and pump and for forming in conjunction with cooling cavity additional cooling liquid circulation circuit. EFFECT: enhanced heat-exchanging capacity in discharge zone and in cooling cavity and prolonged service life of ozonizer. 8 cl, 3 dwg
