FIELD: production of hydrated lime used in construction industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves simultaneously grinding and extinguishing lump lime in grinding-extinguishing unit in the presence of water providing for complete lime hydration; hydrating lime in grinding- extinguishing unit made in the form of rod mill, into which lime is fed and water is supplied together with saturated water steam of 210 C temperature. Process line has grinding-extinguishing unit, hoppers, dosing devices, transportation systems, separator for product concentration and calibrating unit. Grinding-extinguishing unit is made in the form of rod mill equipped with dosing devices having pipelines for supplying water and saturated steam into mill.
