FIELD: production of building materials. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method of upgrading of natural arenaceous quartz and is dealt with the field of production of building materials, in particular, with technology of upgrading of the natural arenaceous quartz, being a raw building materials component for manufacture of many silicate materials. The method of upgrading of the natural arenaceous quartz provides for separation of vegetable, stony, pulverous and argillaceous gangue. Before the separation of pulverous and argillaceous gangue the sand is treated in a spherical or a rod mill with specific power inputs from 1 up to 6 kWh per a ton of the raw material up to a gain of the specific surface of the enriched sand from 80 to 600 cm2/g. As a result of action of the milling bodies and a friction of the sand grains among themselves there is a scraping down of the surface shells of the foreign minerals on the sand grains and a partial powdering of the sand. The quartz contents in the sand increases, and the smaller-sized and soft argillaceous gangue ferrous limonite, calcite as well as organic impurities are removed by separation. The gain of the specific surface of sand and elimination of the shells on its grains increases activity of the upgraded sand as a filler in the structure of the synthetic stone. The invention allows to increase efficiency of upgrading of arenaceous quartz. EFFECT: the method allows increases activity of the upgraded sand as a filler in the structure of the synthetic stone and so is increasing efficiency of the process of arenaceous quartz upgrading. 5 cl, 1 tbl
