SUBSTANCE: method for continuous casting of billets of low carbon steel in curvilinear type machines comprises steps of supplying low-carbon steel into mold; drawing billet out of mold and cooling it; determining water flowrate for secondary cooling zones at sides of large and small radiuses of machine according to relations and where F1 is water flowrate for secondary cooling zones at side of large radius of machine, cu.m/h; F2 is water flowrate for secondary cooling zones at side of small radius of machine, cu.m/h; V is billet drawing speed, m/min; I is mean value of axial chemical non-uniformity of billet; [C] - carbon content in steel, %; [Mn] - manganese content in steel, %; [S] - sulfur content in steel, %; [Al] - aluminium content in steel, %; 6.38; 1.29; -7.65; -0.91; -122.55; 21.10; 5.09; 18.77; 0.71; -21.89; 4.17; 146.99; -14.95 and 3.08 - empiric coefficients.
