FIELD: rubber industry. SUBSTANCE: ethylene-propylene rubbers are prepared by ethylene-propylene copolymerization in solvent in presence of cyclic comonomer or without it and catalytic complex based on organoaluminum compound, vanadium chloride and vanadium oxychloride plus molecular weight regulator. Copolymerization is followed by washing procedure consisted in that III- and V-group metals are removed from polymer solution in two steps: first at 30-50 C and then at 65-85 C, polymer solution in each step being washed out at least twice at pH 4,5-6,5. Rubber is then stabilized, degassed, and dried. EFFECT: increased variable- valence metal removal degree and reduced consumption of desalted water on washing of polymer solution. 1 dwg, 6 ex
