FIELD: device igniting powder charge of cartridge for plain- barrel hunting and sporting guns. SUBSTANCE: percussion cap has cylindrical jacket, anvil and cap with charge of percussion-igniting composition with recess. Recess has cylindrical or truncated cone shape so arranged that ratio of charge diameter to recess diameter is 1.3:3.5, ratio of distance from outer surface of charge to outer surface of cap bottom and recess bottom is 1.5: 3.0. Distance from recess bottom to outer surface of cap bottom is constant and amounts to 0.9-1.3 mm. EFFECT: simplified design of percussion cap and its increased failure-free performance. 1 dwg, 2 tbl
