METHOD OF SELECTION OF DRIVE FOR TURNING STRUCTURE IN ARTICULATED JOINTS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for use in mechanisms of satellite turnable parts, mainly those where springs are used as drive, for instance, turnable structure hinge joints. In process of ground tests of articulated joints, variance and mathematical expectation of moments of resistance forces ms and σs. are found. Selection of drives is previously carried out from number of drives with known characteristics of distribution of moments of moving forces mD and σD at mD>ms.. Then reliability of functioning of articulated joints is set and, using the formula, values of k corresponding to previously chosen drives are determined. Then checking is carried out on condition that increase of actual values of moment of moving forces of drives as compared with actual values of moments of forces of resistance to turning in articulated joints should not be less than k-fold greater, in possible cases of positioning of articulated joints, for the worst combination of simulating factors. Drive featuring minimum value of k exceeding unity is chosen. EFFECT: minimization of weight of turnable structure at preset reliability of functioning of articulated joint.
