FIELD: inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to composites of nickelous hydroxide used in production of chemical current sources. Nickelous hydroxide for chemical current sources exhibits definite granulometric composition and crystalline structure based on nickel and OH-group. It comprises active additions, ingredients and water. Nickelous hydroxide comprises as active additions cobalt, zinc, calcium, magnesium, aluminum and copper in the following ratio of components, wt.-%: nickelous hydroxide, 82.0-97.9; cobalt, 0.5-10; zinc, 0.01-4.5; calcium, 0.04-1.5; magnesium, 0.002-0.5; aluminum, 0.005-3.0; copper, 0.01-1.5; ingredients, 0.8-0.02; water, 0.1-2. Nickelous hydroxide exhibits form of spherical particles of size 0.5- 30 mcm with dendrite surface. EFFECT: enhanced electric conductivity and decreased cost of nickelous hydroxide. 2 tbl, 1 ex
